There are many ways in which Dylan Audette has impacted my education. I had the privilege of having Dylan as a preceptor last semester for integrated biology and chemistry. Dylan was extremely helpful during our study of ecosystems. Whether it was simply helping me set up sensors in my model tank or explaining the complicated stages of eutrophication in an ecosystem, Dylan was always there, willing to help in any way and answer the many questions I had. One of the best things about having Dylan Audette as a teacher was that he is very passionate about biology. His excitement toward our ecosystem study caused me to delve further into my research so I could truly understand all the factors that affect an ecosystem. Not only did his passion motivate me, but it also provided a great learning environment, one where I felt comfortable to ask questions and present different ideas I had about a particular subject.
Unsurprisingly, I wasn’t the only one Dylan had a positive effect on. He ALWAYS made sure that everyone understood what was being taught and never hesitated to offer us more time outside of class to discuss issues further. In addition, Dylan supplied students with articles and other forms of information to develop our education on a certain principle even further and make sure we truly understood what we were studying in class. Lastly, Dylan was very tech-savvy and knew how to operate any technological device we encountered in class, lab, and studio. I struggled a lot with the JMP program, but with Dylan’s help I was able to master the program’s complicated tools and use them to create appropriate graphs for the many post-labs and posters assigned in lab. I was very lucky to have Dylan Audette as a mentor and teacher. Wherever Dylan’s career takes him, I know he will positively influence those around him like he did with me and the rest of my integrated class.
Sincerely,

To whom it may concern,
During my second semester of my freshman year at the University of Delaware, I had the privilege of having Dr. Audette as a preceptor for my Integrated Chemistry and Biology classes. Dr. Audette stood out to me in his dedication to clarity and one-on-one time with students, a trait of his that many classmates have praised outside of the lecture hall. As difficult as those classes were, I was always amazed at how Dr. Audette would make an effort to answer the questions of every student in both lectures and labs. His calm and amicable disposition was breath of fresh air from the typical stoic professors that many undergrads complain about, making his workshops something to look forward to. This rings especially true for me personally, as his open attitude and hands-on teaching style helped me tremendously with regard to not only better understanding biology and chemistry, but also to better transition into a college-paced learning environment. Because of these memorable qualities, I firmly believe that Dr. Audette is more than ready for a professorship, and I know that wherever he finds one, his school of choice will be lucky to have him.

To whom it may concern,
Dr. Dylan Audette was my preceptor for Honors Integrated at the University of Delaware this past semester. Dr. Audette was incredibly helpful from the beginning to the end of the course, and I believe that he helped me become a better student. On the first day, I immediately sensed that Dr. Audette was very involved with the program and wished for the best for his students, making sure that he was always available to help with any question. He was very knowledgeable and was able to answer any question that came his way, be it chemistry, biology, statistical analysis, laboratory experiments, anything. I always knew that I could depend on him and frequently asked him questions to guide me through the course.
One instance where this shows involved one of the experiments we performed. I was running tests and analyzing the data I recorded for our semester-long project when I realized that the data I received did not make sense, so I asked Dr. Audette about how to handle it. Dr. Audette took time out of his busy schedule to stay after class to help me understand how to analyze the data and how to think about how to present the data. He helped me understand that it is my job as a scientist to explain the concepts behind the data and to think of how my data can reveal any other trends. I became a more critical thinker and recalled his advice often, and I believe this is what led me to improving my performance in the classroom, resulting in A’s for both Biology and Chemistry. Now, as a peer leader for the new students in the classroom, I try to help my own students by giving them the same advice.
Dr. Audette is a very qualified teacher. He goes above and beyond what is expected of a mentor, and I believe he has greatly helped me grow as a student and a scientist. I now approach science in a more thorough manner and have become a more critical thinker, both skills that will greatly assist me in my journey through college and medical school. I highly recommend Dr. Audette.
Sincerely,
B. Nicolo Bautista

To Whom It May Concern,
I have had the great pleasure of learning and working with Dr. Audette during my time here at the University of Delaware. Dr. Audette was the preceptor for my spring semester freshman year in the integrated biology and chemistry class offered at UD. As a preceptor Dr. Audette not only led us through helpful pre-lab discussions but also aided in questions we may have had for both our biology and chemistry classes. Dr. Audette was a vital resource for me as a freshman learning to navigate college classes, assignments and the new expectations being asked of me that were unique to the integrated biology and chemistry classes. An example of a unique expectation of this freshman course was poster presentations based on our laboratory work and findings. Dr. Audette was always ready and available, both inside and outside his office hours, to help with my many questions of how to prepare for these presentations and to clarify any ideas that I was confused about. With his assistance, I went from being very confused and overwhelmed by these poster presentations to calm, collected, and confident in my knowledge and findings in the lab. Dr. Audette was and continues to be passionate about his students and making sure that they understand what they are learning and is always willing to help further explain a concept if they do not understand. I now hold a position as a front desk receptionist for the ISE lab in the suite where Dr. Audette works and his office is located. In this position I continue to watch many students come to Dr. Audette for help in their classes and labs. I also have seen Dr. Audette’s dedication to the integrated program behind the scenes at the weekly staff meetings. Dr. Audette is always ready to make changes and assist his other faculty members in better assisting the students and their learning. Dr. Audette’s passion and dedication for teaching is contagious and will help him to be an outstanding professor that encourages these same qualities from his students.

To whom it may concern,
I am a student in Dr. Audette’s Biology 2017/Chemistry 207 Integrated Course this fall. We are only about a month into school, but I already know if I have any questions Dr. Audette is my best resource. He is passionate about his job and really cares about the students he teaches, a fantastic trait that sets him apart from other professors. He puts in a lot of effort into his lessons and is very enthusiastic, which is contagious.
I have already went to Dr. Audette for help several times, and he happily assisted me each time. For example, my group and I were very stressed and overwhelmed for a big project coming up and decided to go to his office hours for help. It was extremely beneficial and relieving because he answered all of our questions and made us feel more comfortable about our work. We felt confident presenting and did much better than if we hadn’t gone to him.
Dr. Audette would be a great asset to any team, as he is very social, friendly, and kind. On top of that, he is overall a wonderful professor and I’m very privileged to have him as a preceptor.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email me! My email is jessrubin@comcast.net

“My ultimate goal is to pursue a career in medicine as a physician. ”
Hello Dr. Audette,
From my experience taking the Integrated Biology and Chemistry course last spring, I just want to say that it was a great privilege to have had you as a preceptor last semester.
I found how you communicate with me and other students very effective in introducing and delivering scientific concepts that are overall difficult to understand. Specifically, I really appreciated how you talked to us at our level and provided explanations in a simplistic manner which made these concepts easier to grasp.
For example, during the times I stayed after class and reviewed my lab group’s poster presentations and lab reports with you, I found that your suggestions and critiques were much more meaningful than that I received from the TAs or the other professors because you went over the importance and the practicality of including/omitting certain details as well as the reasoning behind such decisions. While I cannot say that I write what would be considered excellent lab reports or scientific posters, I am sure that your guidance and direction placed me on the track towards becoming a competent student and hopefully what is a competent scientist.
I am certain that you will make a great professor because of the time you dedicate to your students and the fact that you greatly enjoy what you do, which many of my classmates and myself found obvious whenever you were teaching.
Compared to some professors, I found you to be very approachable and easy to talk to and this, I believe, made my own education very enjoyable as I had a figure such as yourself encouraging me to further pursue what I want to study.
I just want to thank you for your kind email and for all you have taught me and I wish you the best of luck.

To whom it may concern,
I am very pleased to be writing a letter of recommendation for Dylan Audette, who was my preceptor for Integrated Biology and Chemistry my freshman year. It was very overwhelming coming into college because the teachers just threw a bunch of information at you and expected you to understand everything. I am very grateful to have had Dylan as my preceptor because he definitely made the transition much easier. He was so helpful, both during class and outside of class. He was always willing to have office hours and he even put up supplementary videos for the technology challenged like myself, who needed step by step instructions on how to make a graph in JMP. He even showed me how to get my computer out of tablet mode which I was struggling with for quite a while. Labs were much easier because he would explain them during what was called studio, and not just at a surface level but actually understanding why we were doing what we were doing in the lab. He also held office hours right before a poster was due so that he could help with any last minute editing. It was very clear that he wanted us to succeed, and cared about how well we did in the class, always offering ways to improve and do better. In addition, he would provide numerous tips on how to study so that we would perform better on tests. I also liked that fact that I could talk to him and joke around with him, because some teachers are sometimes too serious and unapproachable. He was very relatable and funny, so it was always nice having a conversation with him. He also kept us from getting too off task in Biology, which was very hard considering the class was from about four to six.
Although I am sad to see him go, Dylan Audette was an amazing preceptor and role model for me and an exceptional candidate who would contribute immensely to any program. I highly recommend him for any position and wish him the best of luck wherever he chooses to go.
Sincerely,
Nicole Moyer
